Faceoff Hockey Prototype Download

FALL RELEASE SNEAK PREVIEW

Since FACE-OFF was released as a PC game 5years ago, many of you have sent in suggestions for making the game better, in terms of both features and the "look and feel" of the game. Each release of the game has been a step in the right direction, but we feel NOW is the time to make a major leap forward. At the end of this message, you will get a download address for a sneak preview of this fall's release. Before you go straight to the download - PLEASE read the rest of this message, as it will explain a lot of what you will see - and what you won't.

First: rather than call the game "FACE-OFF for WINDOWS, version 3", we've decided to change the name a bit to reflect some of the MAJOR changes we've made. Therefore, the next release will be known as FACE-OFF 2000.A word of caution about the sneak preview - it is intended to give you a flavor for what the new release will look like and some of the projected features. It is NOT a working demo - you will find that a lot of buttons don't work as you would expect, and some screens lead to 'dead ends'. Many screens have been 'doctored' to give a feel for what they will look like, while others will be blank, with no information. This is intentional, both to keep the download to a minimum, and because the code simply isn't finished yet, as you would expect.

Also, please keep in mind that everything you see here may not wind up in the final version. Other features may be added that you don't see here. Things may be changed or rearranged. FACE-OFF 2000 (FO2K) is a work in progress, and what you will see in the download is only intended to show you the direction we are going in. So take a few minutes, download the preview, and see what you think!

IMPORTANT: Our game engine and accurate ratings are what sets FACE-OFF apart from the rest of the pack. FACE-OFF will continue to remain true to the basic game system, while taking advantage of the power of today's computer systems to enhance the accuracy of the system. We will endeavor to improve programming techniques and eliminate bugs found in the code without compromising the accuracy and realism of the game system. Our ratings procedure will remain as is as well.
