In the ALCS, Milwaukee continued it's back-to-the-wall performance by coming back from an 0-2 deficit to beat California's lineup of Reggie Jackson (39 HR), Lynn (.299 BA, 21HR) , Baylor (24 HR) and Carew (.319 BA). In a stark contrast in styles in the Series, the White Rat's club featured speed and defense. Ozzie set the standard for defense at shortstop, Sutter (36 saves) anchored the bullpen and L. Smith (.307, 68 SB) sparked the offense.
