The 1939 New York Yankees were lead by the Yankee Clipper Joe
DiMaggio (.381 BA).
The 1929 Philadelphia Athletics with Jimmy "Double xx"
Foxx (.354 BA, 33 HR) and Lefty Grove (2.81 ERA) - perhaps the greatest pitcher ever.
The 1942 St. Louis Cardinals were the re-built "Gas House
Gang" with a 21 year old Stan 'the Man" Musial (.315 BA) , Enos Slaughter
(17 3B) and MVP pitcher Mort Cooper (1.78 ERA).
A new Ball Park chart is included that includes every matching Ball Park
from 1906 to 1988. From Old Yankee Stadium's monstrous dimensions in
left-center in 1927 to the short over-hang porch in right-field in Tiger
Stadium in 1984.
