Why they were selected:
The Phillies were a perenial power in the NL from 1976-1980 winning 4 NL East titles and the World Series in 1980.  The 1976-1978 Phillies have the 27th highest three year SD score of All-Time.  The 1976 and 1977 teams both won 101 games.  The 1977 team had better offense while the 1976 team had better pitching.  Steve Carlton had a Cy Young year in 1977 so the 1977 Phillies get the slight edge.
